What We Don't Like
First Impressions Of The Aricove Weighted Blanket
Aricove is impressive right out of the gate with their presentation of their weighted blanket. Here's our initial thoughts.
A High Quality Carrying Case
The weighted blanket comes in a high quality carrying case that is designed for you to keep and use long term.
If you also opt for the cooling blanket cover, you get a similar quality drawstring bag for storage and traveling.
Cool To The Touch Blanket & Cover
Both the weighted blanket and the carrying case are made from a noticeably cooling material. This is critical when it comes to weighted blankets, since they tend to get hot over time. If you sleep hot, you can either use the blanket by itself, or add the cooling blanket cover.

Another great benefit of the weighted blanket cover is that it provides a protective layer to your blanket. This blanket isn't cheap. In fact, it's one of the more premium weighted blankets we've reviewed to date. With that said, opting to also get the cover is a great choice for protecting your investment.
What Is The Aricove Weighted Blanket Made From?
The blanket shell is made from 100% viscose, which is a cooling material made from bamboo. It's soft, silky, and generally considered a premium bedding material. The shell has a diamond weave pattern to help secure the micro glass bead filling.
Don't worry though, this isn't the type of glass that will cut you. These micro glass beads dissipate heat, provide an even balance of weight and are what you want a weighted blanket to be filled with.
Lower quality materials may degrade over time, or may bunch and lose their effectiveness. Glass is a premium material that helps achieve the smooth body contouring effect, and is what makes this blanket feel more satisfying than cheaper alternatives.
Different Weight Options For The Aricove Weighted Blanket
There isn't a one-size-fits-all weighted blanket. The weight that's best suited for you depends on how big you are, how you sleep, and how you intend to use your weighted blanket. Aricove took this into consideration and gives you one of the widest range of weight selection for your blanket.
The 15lb blanket weighed in at just about 15lbs, within a reasonable margin of error. Our blanket weighed in at 14.8lbs, which is nearly perfect.
10lb, 12lb, 15lb, 17lb, & 20lb
Generally speaking, if you're a lighter person, or have medical issues like sensitive joints, you should opt for the lowest weight, the 10lb Aricove cooling weighted blanket. Aricove recommends the 10lb option for back sleepers who weigh less than 125lbs, side sleepers who weigh less than 130lbs, or those with sensitive joints who weigh less than 175lbs.
The 12lb option is also recommended for those with sensitive joints who weigh under 175lbs, but unlike the 10lb option, the 12lb Aricove weighted blankets are for back sleepers between 125lbs-150lbs, and side sleepers who are between 130lbs-155lbs.
The 15, 17, and 20lb Aricove weighted blankets are not recommended for people who have sensitive joints. As a rule of thumb, if you're between 150lbs-200lbs with no issues with sensitive joints, either the 12, 15, or 17lb options will be a great fit.
If you're over 200lbs, it's a good bet to go for the 20lb weighted blanket, otherwise the mid-range blankets are a good option for most people.
Caring For Weighted Blankets
Not all weighted blankets can be run through the washing machine and dryer, which is what makes the weighted blankets from Aricove so special. Both the weighted blankets and cover are machine washable and and tumble dryer safe.
The sleep products have been pre-washed and shrunk so you should be able to wash any of Aricoves cooling weighted blankets without any issue. Whenever possible though, you should use low heat in the dryer to extend the life of these cooling weighted blankets.
They dry quickly, so using a high heat dryer simply isn't needed.
As far as weighted blankets go, the Aricove blankets are one of the best. They're filled with superfine glass beads use a bamboo fabric cover which is great for getting the benefits of a weighted blanket, without being a bad option for hot sleepers.
The Aricove weighted blanket comes in a variety of weights, so you can choose the one that best suits your body type and sleep preferences. They have one of the widest array of options of any competitors.
Overall, if you're in the market for a weighted blanket and want one of the best quality options out there, Aricove is a solid choice. They offer high quality sleep products and back your purchase with a 30-day money back guarantee.
