Overall Thoughts

With a medium firm feel and high-density foam layers, the Vibe Mattress suits individuals seeking deep cushioning and pressure relief. It also delivers excellent motion isolation at a price most budget shoppers find approachable.

Vibe Mattress Construction and Design

The Vibe Mattress is constructed using 2 layers of foam with a circular-knit fabric cover. Together, these foam layers total 10 inches in thickness. As a medium firm mattress, sleepers should find some nice body sinkage on this memory foam mattress while still feeling supported, thanks to the high-density base foam.

Vibe Mattress Performance

Our 2-stage review process involved monitoring factors like pressure relief, motion transfer, edge support, temperature regulation, and ease of movement. Let's check out how the Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress performed.

Mattress Firmness

Mattress Firmness

Vibe is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

On our firmness scale, the Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress scored 5.5/10, which is slightly softer than a medium-firm mattress.

Its 2-inch top layer of gel comfort foam is very soft, so sleepers should expect to slightly sink into the surface. However, the core layer consists of an 8-inch high-density foam, which is much firmer. Combined, these foam layers give the Vibe Mattress a good balance of support and plush comfort.

Speaking of feel, this bed comes with a traditional slow-sinking foam feel. But even with the memory foam feel, I stayed mostly elevated on the mattress and didn't feel stuck as I tried to move around.

Temperature Regulation

Performance: 7/10

The Vibe Mattress regulated body temperature better than most all-foam beds that I've previously tested. This makes it a compelling pick for those who sleep hot.

Effective temperature regulation means that your sleep surface can regulate the warmth your body emits without trapping it. The Vibe Mattress achieves this goal thanks to its numerous cooling features. It has a soft, circular-knit fabric cover that is designed to help minimize heat buildup.

This breathable cover works hand in hand with the bed's open cell structure to promote maximum airflow for a cool night's sleep. The gel-infused foam also helps keep the mattress cool, as it absorbs body heat and pulls it away from the surface.

Motion Isolation

Performance: 8/10

The Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress stands out in its ability to isolate motion. Its 2-layer all-foam design effectively absorbs and reduces motion transfer across the surface.

As an average-weight side sleeper, I was really impressed by Vibe’s ability to minimize motion, observing minimal disturbances throughout our motion isolation tests. Even the light sleepers in our team felt little to no disturbance when their partners changed sleep positions or got out of bed.

Edge Support

Performance: 4.5/10

Like most memory foam mattresses, the Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress received below-average marks during our testing. I noticed excessive sinkage when I sat and slept near the sides of the bed.

Sturdy edge support enables sleepers to utilize more of their bed's surface area by offering enhanced body support around the edges. Support around the perimeter is helpful for those who weigh more than 230 pounds and sleepers who often sit around the sides of the bed.

If you fall into this category, I recommend a firmer alternative or a model with a reinforced perimeter for a more robust edge support.

Pressure Relief

Performance: 8/10

The Vibe Mattress delivers excellent pressure point relief like other all-foam mattresses. With moderate body contouring, this bed adapted to my body and supported vital pressure points like the shoulders and hips.

I liked the level of pressure relief this bed offered without feeling excessively plush or enveloping. Vibe's ability to cushion the lower back, hip region, and shoulders makes it appealing for average-weight side sleepers and back sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds.

Responsiveness

Performance: 6/10

The Vibe Mattress gets an average rating for responsiveness due to the low level of responsiveness in its comfort layer.

One of the main reasons memory foam has its name is because the foam material is slow at retaking its original shape.

In simple terms, it briefly retains a “memory” of the weight you applied on the surface. This slow response to pressure means a high risk of feeling trapped in the foam, making it hard to get in bed or change your position at night.

Mattress Safety

New mattresses often release a chemical-like odor in a chemical process known as off-gassing. This usually occurs due to the emission of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) when the new mattress is unpackaged. Although VOCs aren't harmful, the gas emissions may be unpleasant to some sleepers.

The Vibe's off-gassing is quite typical for an all-foam mattress. The smell should dissipate quickly, and leaving the bed in a well-ventilated room can help expedite the process.

If you're an eco-conscious sleeper, you'll be glad to know that this mattress is OEKO-TEX certified, meaning it features safer chemicals that won't affect your overall well-being. What's more, all its layers are CertiPUR-US certified, so you can rest assured that your mattress doesn't contain ozone depleters and toxic gasses.

Performance with Couples

Performance with Couples

Vibe is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

Overall, I think the Vibe Mattress could be a solid choice for couples. Looking at our motion isolation results, it's safe to say that you won't feel significant disturbances when your partner tosses and turns at night.

While the Vibe Mattress contours to the body's unique curves, it doesn't have excessive sinkage. This means you'll also find it easy to move around on the surface without feeling stuck.

The Vibe Mattress boasts moderate bounce, thanks to its foam layers. It's not as bouncy and springy as a latex or innerspring mattress but offers enough responsiveness for sex.

Couples will also appreciate this bed's cooling abilities, especially if one isn't prone to overheating at night.

Sleeping Positions and Body Weight

Designed with side sleepers in mind, the Vibe Mattress excels at supporting individuals who often sleep on their sides and weigh 230 pounds or less.

Side sleepers usually benefit from a plush sleep surface that conforms to the body while keeping the spine in alignment. During testing, I noticed that the Vibe Mattress offered the right balance of body contouring and support to minimize pressure points from forming while promoting proper spinal alignment.

While the lightweight back sleepers in our team gave the Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress average marks, those who weigh over 130 pounds felt the surface was too soft to offer adequate support. Generally, overly soft mattresses can cause heavyweight sleepers’ midsection and hip region to sink deeply into the surface and throw their spine out of alignment. These sleepers usually benefit the most from firmer mattresses

With a medium firm feel, we found that the Vibe Gel-infused Memory Foam Mattress was moderately comfortable and supportive for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds. Our numerous tests indicated that this memory foam mattress lacked the perfect balance of cushion and overall support for average-weight and heavier stomach sleepers.

Vibe Heather Grey Memory Foam Vs. Vibe Quilted Hybrid

Vibe Heather Grey Memory Foam Vs. Vibe Quilted Hybrid

Vibe is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

While both models come from the same brand, the Vibe Heather Grey Memory Foam and the Vibe Quilted Hybrid Mattress differ greatly. This hybrid model features a pillow top feel and individually wrapped innerspring coils that deliver plush comfort and orthopedic support.

Other outstanding features of the Vibe Quilted Hybrid Mattress include:

  • quilted top offers additional cushioning and a soft feel
  • Gel infusions help prevent overheating at night
  • Reinforced edges help maintain stability

If you're a back sleeper who loves a soft mattress feel, I recommend this Vibe Hybrid Mattress. Its plush pillow top is also great for hip and shoulder pain

Vibe Mattress Vs. PlushBeds Luxury Bliss

Vibe Mattress Vs. PlushBeds Luxury Bliss

PlushBeds is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

Unlike the Vibe, the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss is a hybrid mattress with latex foam and innerspring coils. While both mattresses are good cooling options, the Luxury Bliss from PlushBeds has numerous cooling features, like the luxurious stretch knit cover, making it the best option for hot sleepers.

Other features that make the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss stand out include:

  • Great conforming qualities and motion isolation thanks to the latex construction
  • Highly responsive, making movement super easy on it
  • Coil layer offers exceptional edge support

I recommend the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss to sleepers who value natural materials and are ready to invest more in a hybrid mattress. It also offers multiple firmness levels for personalized comfort.

Vibe Mattress Vs. Molecule Core

Vibe Mattress Vs. Molecule Core

Molecule is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

Like the Vibe, the Molecule Core is an all-foam bed made to be supportive and pressure-relieving. Both models suit side and back sleepers, but I'd direct strict side sleepers toward the Molecule Core Mattress. In addition to its adaptive foam layers, it boasts a precision-contoured 3D geometric surface with 3-zone technology to offer hyper-targeted and self-adjusting support for different body parts.

I was also impressed by Molecule's:

  • Targeted pressure relief for sleepers with active lifestyles
  • Advanced cooling cover, which helps regulate temperature
  • Perfect balance of motion isolation and responsiveness

While the Molecule Core Mattress is the most expensive model, it delivers enhanced cooling, durability, and support. It's a solid choice for hot sleepers who want a pressure-relieving mattress.

Vibe Mattress Vs. Amerisleep AS3

Vibe Mattress Vs. Amerisleep AS3

Amerisleep is running a flash sale on active December 9, 2024!

The Amerisleep AS3 is an all-foam mattress, just like the Vibe. However, it features some additional cooling tech, such as the plant-based Bio-Pur material and Refresh Cover, which is said to sleep up to 7 degrees cooler than other mattresses. Hot sleepers in need of a cooler sleep surface might want to opt for this bed.

Other outstanding features of the Amerisleep AS3 include:

  • HIVE technology offers targeted support
  • Bio-Pur foam alleviates pressure points
  • Dust-mite resistant and made without harsh chemicals

Overall, couples should choose the AS3 over the Vibe Mattress, as it is bouncier and more responsive. It is also an ideal pick for those who prioritize temperature control, muscle recovery, and better overall comfort.

Closing  Thoughts

There's no one perfect bed for everyone, but if you're an average-weight sleeper who needs pressure point relief for joint and back pain, the Vibe Heather Grey Gel Memory Foam Mattress is a top option. Its high-quality foam layers are highly praised for minimizing motion transfer, preventing sagging, and offering long-lasting durability and support.

I really can't deny that I had a good time on this memory foam mattress. However, it's worth noting that some of our testers found it slept on the hotter side, so if you struggle with sleeping hot at night, it might not be the best cooling mattress for you. Remember, you can always test out the Vibe Mattress for 100 nights before commiting if you're still unsure whether it's right for you.
