The Novilla Bliss is a memory foam bed that delivers the contouring and support that we expect from memory foam mattresses. However, it feels bouncier and sleeps much cooler than most of its all-foam counterparts, thanks to the upgrade Novilla made to its comfort system.
With everyone raving about the amount of pressure relief they get when sleeping on the Novilla Bliss, we had to test it out and see if it lives up to the hype.
Our testing process:
Over the past three months, our sleep experts rigorously tested the Novilla Bliss mattress and compared its performance to three other mattresses. In our comprehensive testing process known as the 2 stage review process, we analyze all aspects of a mattress and rate its performance to offer our readers well-informed and reliable insights.
Below are our findings.

Overall Thoughts
The Novilla Bliss Mattress is designed to meet the needs of average weight side sleepers. It has pressure-relieving foam that cradles the shoulders and hips, preventing sleepers from waking up with pain in those areas. It also boasts gel infusions to help maintain a neutral temperature. It’s also an ideal mattress for couples as it offers a good amount of motion isolation. Let’s dive further into this mattress.
Novilla Bliss Mattress Construction and Design

The Novilla Bliss 10 stands out for lacking the deep-body sinking sensation of other memory foam mattresses.
It comes with 4 layers of high-density foam that cushion painful pressure points and conform to the unique shape of the spine for optimum comfort and support. Its 2-inch proprietary layer of Airflow Comfort Foam helps ease the sleeper's weight onto the firm supportive foam below.
All these layers are capped by a hypoallergenic charcoal and bamboo fabric cover that protects your sleep surface against dust mites, pet dander, and other allergens. The cover is also removable and machine-washable, making it easy to clean.

Novilla Bliss Mattress Performance
While mattress material and design are some of the most vital things to consider when shopping for a new bed, there's more to check out to find a perfect fit.

Mattress Firmness and Feel
One of the most crucial things to consider when purchasing a new bed is how it feels. Overall, we ranked the Novilla Bliss as a 5/10 on our firmness scale, which is slightly softer than the industry standard for a medium-firm mattress.
This all-foam mattress has a doughy, cushiony mattress feel. However, you'll still experience excellent pressure relief and body contouring thanks to its layers of high-density foam.
The level of support offered by this mattress was quite remarkable - for an average weight side sleeper.
Personally, I experienced the most body support and pressure point relief when sleeping on my side. While I wasn't uncomfortable on my back, the support wasn’t as much as my back needed. If you’re a back sleeper, try out these mattress options. On the other hand, stomach sleepers noticed that their hip region began to slightly sink. This is not ideal, as it could lead to lower back pain over time. Therefore, if you’re a stomach sleeper, check out our list of ideal mattresses.
Temperature Regulation
Performance: 6.5/10
As an ordinary sleeper, I found the Novilla Bliss to be quite cool when sleeping. However, the mattress slept slightly hot for our hot and heavy sleep experts. Memory foam tends to retain more body heat than other materials, and while this mattress has gel infusion, it still retains a bit of that body heat.
“I love the breathable rayon cover and the gel infused foam. These layers helped me stay cool for the most part. Unfortunately, late into the night, my body got quite hot - enough to wake me up,” says Paul, from The SleepShop team.
That said, I'd request hot sleepers to consider a mattress with more advanced cooling features and airflow, like the PlushBeds Eco Bliss mattress which we shall touch on later in this review. We also have some gel mattress options to keep in mind.
Motion Isolation
Performance: 8/10
Motion transfer basically refers to how much body movements vibrate across the sleep surface. This can cause sleepless nights, especially if you're a light sleeper or share your mattress with a wriggler.
During testing, I was very impressed by the lack of motion transfer with the Novilla Bliss Memory Foam Mattress. Despite tossing and turning in her sleep, I didn't have any problems with having my sleep disturbed.
We tested this bed's motion transfer again by placing a glass of wine on the mattress and dropping a 15lb kettlebell on it. While the glass wobbled slightly, it didn't fall over, which was a perfect result.
So, if you easily wake up at night due to bed movements, you'll really love the motion isolation offered by the Novilla Bliss Mattress.
Edge Support
Performance: 6/10
Edge support is simply a measure of how stable a sleeper will feel on the perimeter of their mattress. This is crucial for couples who need to use their mattress' full surface area.
I think edge support is among the weakest aspects of the Novilla Bliss Mattress. If this is a deal breaker for you, I'd recommend a firmer mattress alternative.
The compression of the memory foam layers is greatest around the sides, and most of our testers noticed this weakness in the form of less support and stability around those areas. This issue was most pronounced for the heavyweight sleepers in our team and those who frequently sat or slept at the edge of the mattress.
Pressure Relief
Performance: 8/10
The comfort system of the Novilla Bliss Memory Foam Mattress delivers optimum pressure relief thanks to its 2-inch gel-infused memory foam. This layer has enough give and body conforming to provide proportional cushioning to body parts that need it most.
During testing, we found that this tailored support helped with proper spinal alignment in all sleep positions, especially for side sleepers who often experience more impact around their shoulders and hips. Healthy spinal alignment and pressure relief help keep sleepers from waking up with aches and pains.
Responsiveness
Performance: 5.5/10
Like most memory foam mattresses, the Novilla Bliss Mattress rates slightly above average in terms of ease of movement. While it has a slower response to changes in sleep positions, it offers excellent contouring and body support. So, you may still find this mattress reasonably easy to move on.
Mattress Safety
Like most bed-in-a-box mattresses, the Novilla Bliss will have a 24-48 hour decompression and off-gassing period once you unpack it. However, this is unlikely to be an issue for most individuals.
With its all-foam design and packaging, some VOCs (volatile organic compounds) can be held in the wrappings and released when you install the mattress. While these compounds don't pose any health risk, they may generate a chemical smell.
Unless you're highly odor-sensitive, that light smell should be nothing but a minor nuisance, and it usually disappears within a few hours, especially when placed in a well-ventilated area.
Sleeper Position Vs Body Weight
Depending on your preferred sleeping position and body weight, you'll need different levels of support.
In general, the Novilla Bliss Memory Foam Mattress should be a perfect fit for lightweight side and back sleepers. Its all-foam and medium design means heavier folks and stomach sleepers will likely not receive the support they need.
On the other hand, light individuals and most average-weight sleepers should find enough support on the Novilla Bliss Mattress. Our lightweight testers specifically felt comfortable in all positions.
Below is a summary of how you should expect the Novilla Bliss Mattress to perform across different weight categories and sleep positions.
Sleeper Type | Below 130lbs | Above 130lbs | Above 250lbs |
Side Sleeper | 5/5 | 3/5 | 2/5 |
Back Sleeper | 5/5 | 3/5 | 2/5 |
Stomach Sleeper | 3/5 | 2/5 | 2/5 |
What our sleep experts think about the Novilla Mattress:
"I love a well performing mattress that’s also budget friendly - and the Novilla Bliss is exactly that! The pressure relief is quite remarkable, for sure."

Both the Novilla Bliss and the Novilla Hybrid incorporate foam in their comfort system, and their layers are encased in a breathable bamboo rayon cover.
The only difference between the 2 lies in their support layers. Unlike the Novilla Bliss, this hybrid mattress features a pocketed coil support system that delivers targeted pressure relief and gives the surface a medium-firm feel.
Other features that make the Novilla Vitality Hybrid stand out include:
- Memory foam layer gently cradles painful pressure points
- Hybrid construction offers strong body support

The Amerisleep AS3 is another popular bed-in-a-box mattress that is slightly more expensive compared to the Novilla Bliss. Both mattresses use memory foam material in their comfort layers to offer body contouring and pressure relief. However, unlike the Novilla Bliss, the AS3 comes with a unique Bio-Pur foam layer that naturally excels at temperature control.
Other features that made us love the Amerisleep AS3 include:
- Plant-based memory foam improves breathability and eco-friendliness
- Hexagonal zoned support layer delivers targeted support and pressure relief
- Responsive foam makes it easy to move in bed
Overall, the Novilla Bliss is ideal for those who want a pocket-friendly option with excellent pressure relief, while the AS3 is a high-end pick that offers a perfect balance of comfort and body support while keeping the surface cool.
