Natural Foam Euro

What We Like

  • High-density memory foam for comfort and support
  • Edge to edge support
  • Adjustable firmness

What We Don't Like

  • A bit heavy; you’ll need some help to set it up

Overall Thoughts:

A top name when it comes to hybrid mattresses, the Natural Form Euro mattress is undoubtedly among the best hybrid mattresses in the market. From its washable Australian Merino wool cover to a dual-side firmness adjustment function, this mattress is sure to give you ultimate comfort and sleep quality, regardless of your sleeping style or health condition.

The Natural Form Euro mattress might be the most luxurious and unique hybrid mattress we’ve ever tested. Made of 100%, ethically-sourced, Merino wool, it’s not only natural but washable, comfortable, and temperature regulating. So, you’ll never sleep too cold or too hot! Of course, its natural moisture-wicking and breathable properties also play a role in making this mattress a temperature-neutral mattress.

We really like how impressive the patented pressure-relief system is. All it takes is a mechanical turn of a knob to adjust the firmness of your side of the bed. The Natural Form Euro mattress features several dozens of helix air pods, which loosen or harden, allowing you to enjoy your customizable firmness level.

The air pods also help relieve pressure for side sleepers, while back sleepers and stomach sleepers will love the optimum setting and strong support brought by the memory foam. We loved the fact that the mattress is made of hypoallergenic materials, making it an excellent choice for people with allergies and sensitivities. This is because it won’t trigger any form of allergies.

Puffy Lux Mattress

What We Like

  • Has a nice plush feeling, but doesn’t sink
  • Feels great if you struggle with back pain as it gives effective pressure relief
  • Stays much cooler than other foam type mattresses

What We Don't Like

  • A little heavy, best to set up with some help

Overall Thoughts:

These days, it can be hard to find a mattress that’s plush, but also has enough support to keep your back in good shape. Thankfully, we found this Puffy Lux hybrid mattress. The first thing that really won us over was that while it is perfectly plush, your back won’t suffer because of it. Yes, you still get that lux, ‘sleeping on a cloud’ feeling from the upper cushioning layers. However, you can still tell there’s plenty of support backing it up. That helps keep your spine aligned, and when combined with the plush upper layers, it really offers effective pressure relief and takes the strain off your pressure points.

This mattress actually has specific layers built in to provide the perfect level of support for your spine and the cushion for your pressure points. There are two layers of ‘Cloud Foam’ which you won’t find anywhere else but in the Puffy Lux mattress. These layers feel exactly like what they sound like, a plushy cloud. It keeps pressure points from aching, while the Core Support layer takes care of your back. We felt like our spines were perfectly aligned, which also keeps pressure off tough pressure points like hips, knees, and shoulders.

Another thing we really appreciate is how easy it is to keep this mattress in good shape. No matter how high quality your mattress is, you still want to take care of it and make sure it lasts. Luckily the cover on this mattress makes it easy to keep your mattress looking and feeling brand new. It’s stain resistant, so don’t worry about spilling those before bed drinks. Just as good, it’s easy to wash. Just unzip the cover, and throw it in the washing machine. In short, it’s never been easier to keep a mattress fresh and clean.

This mattress will stay cooler than your typical layered foam mattress. It has special layers to disperse body heat throughout the night, and we noticed a big difference in how much cooler it felt compared to other mattresses.

Layla Hybrid Mattress

What We Like

  • Copper infused materials and special layers keep the mattress cool
  • Flips to either soft or medium firm from one side to another
  • Much better edge support than the majority of mattresses

What We Don't Like

  • Somewhat pricier than other hybrid mattresses

Overall Thoughts:

Much like the first mattress in our reviews, the Layla hybrid mattress gives you plenty of options, with a flippable design. However, we really like how it gives you a bit more range of choice between the firmness on each side. Rather than just switching between medium and firm, you can actually have a soft side, as well as a firm side. While not all couples will agree on which side they prefer, we like knowing that there’s a wider range of choice available, just in case.

This mattress is unique in the way that it isn’t just made of different layers of foam with different densities. Actually, the core has a construction that comprises several pocketed coils, which makes a huge difference. It gives the mattress a different feel than we’ve found with other foam mattresses. There’s more dynamic support, and just enough responsiveness to make it easy to move around and get up if you need to. As a bonus, it’s a little easier to get out of bed in the morning.

If you’re a hot sleeper, we feel your pain. Waking up feeling overheated can really ruin a good night’s sleep. We like how cool the mattress stays throughout the night, which we can chalk up to the copper infused materials and special cooling layers. Of course, the pocketed coils probably also do their part to keep the airflow going through the mattress.

We most recommend this mattress for stomach and side sleepers, although if you’re a back sleeper, just flip it over to get the perfect level of support. Another reason this mattress really stood out is that no matter your weight or body type, the mattress stands up to a serious standard of comfort. Even better, you don’t lose any of the best qualities it delivers.

There's one area this mattress really excels in, and it’s difficult for even the best hybrid mattress to match it -edge support. It might seem like a small thing, but if you’ve ever had a mattress with weak edges, you know exactly what we mean. It can make it tough to sit on the edge of your bed, and you just don’t get that uniform feel that you want from a high quality mattress. So if you’re like us, and that’s a real pet peeve of yours, you’ll find your perfect match with the strong edge support in this Layla hybrid mattress.

Amerisleep AS5

What We Like

  • Excellent motion isolation if you have a partner or pet that jumps up with you
  • Thanks to the memory foam, this mattress sleeps cool through the night
  • The foam is supportive and responsive, providing good pressure relief especially for your back

What We Don't Like

  • It is a little soft for people who sleep on their stomachs, and may not be as comfortable for heavier people

Overall Thoughts:

There’s a reason why Amerisleep is such a popular brand when it comes to hybrid mattresses. Soft and luxurious, this medium-soft mattress can be bought in either all foam or a foam hybrid. We tested out both options and really enjoyed the motion isolation in the all foam option, although it’s true that the foam hybrid is springier, which means that it might last a little longer. Both feel great, so it really just depends on your personal preference—not everyone feels as comfortable on softer mattresses, and when it comes to Amerisleep, you’re definitely getting something soft.

Generally, you might worry that this hybrid isn’t very durable just because it’s made from memory foam. We thought that it felt fairly durable, and the company guarantees their product with a 20-year warranty, so it will certainly last for a long time.

All the durability in the world won’t matter though if you don’t like how the mattress feels when you lie down. We loved the edge support in this Amerisleep Hybrid, and never felt like we would fall out of bed even when sitting on the edge.

This is a good sign when it comes to durability as well. The foam also doesn’t leave an imprint, but is still extremely responsive. When we tested it, there was a sink, but the moment we got up, it bounced back to its original position. The mattress doesn’t suck you in to the point where it’s difficult to get out of bed, although it’s comfortable enough that you might not want to get out of bed anyway.

This Amerisleep is great for some of the deep pressure relief that you’re looking for. This mattress is made with 14 inches of foam afterall, which is potentially a little soft for people who sleep on their stomachs, but that will generally feel good for side sleepers. When you lie down, you can really feel the airflow through the cover, so you’ll be cool no matter what position you sleep in.

PlushBeds Luxury Bliss

What We Like

  • Works well for people in different weights sleeping in the same bed
  • You can sleep comfortably in this mattress regardless of your position
  • It’s soft and yet it still had strong edges and support

What We Don't Like

  • The motion isolation isn’t exceptional if you don’t want to disturb your partner at night

Overall Thoughts:

You might know that PlushBeds makes tons of mattress products like bedding, bed frames, and toppers, but here we’ll talk about the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss, a luxury latex hybrid mattress that clocks in at 12 inches. You have three inches of the organic latex that sits right over a pocketed coil core, all of which is wrapped in an organic cotton cover to keep the mattress breathable and soft when you lie down.

We tested out both the medium and medium-firm mattress options, both of which were comfortable, but keep in mind that if you’re looking for the soft sinking kind of feeling that you might expect from the Amerisleep option, you will not get that here. This PlushBeds mattress doesn’t conform to your body as much, although it does keep you supported, which makes it a good option for those of you who want a mattress that aligns your spine. This means that it doesn’t isolate motion as much either though, which you might be bothered by if you’re a sensitive sleeper.

Really though, one thing we loved about this option is that it’s made to support all sleepers of all weights comfortably—and we tested this too. With the medium option, our lighter people under 130 pounds were able to rest comfortably, and didn’t have as much problem with waking up their partners during the night. Stomach sleepers and people weighing over 230 pounds enjoyed the medium-firm option more—and people who sleep warm to found it to be exceptionally comfortably.

No matter which mattress type you buy though, you’ll find that it’s easy to sleep regardless of your body type and your sleep position. We laid down to test it out, and especially liked the support from the mattress on the back. It was great that the mattress cover was so soft too, soft enough to provide a comfortable barrier along with protection from moisture.

Lie back on the springy Dunlap latex—which you have three inches off—but you’ll still be able to relax with the spring of the coils too. We found that the extra support was great for those of us struggling with back issues.

Zoma Hybrid

What We Like

  • Impressive motion isolation
  • The whole mattress is made to keep cool throughout the night
  • You’ll notice the strong support from the coils and along the edges

What We Don't Like

  • Does not work super well for stomach sleepers

Overall Thoughts:

At its core, a mattress is meant to do one thing: help you sleep better. That’s exactly what the Zoma Hybrid does not only by being soft and comfortable to sleep on, but by having a design specifically meant to relieve pain while keeping you cool at night.

We first noticed the stretchy cover. This cover stays airy throughout the entire night, but this mattress also stays cool, thanks to the gel memory foam inside. This foam, plus the insulated springs inside, is what allows you to sleep comfortably without feeling as if you’re getting stuck inside the mattress. The coils will provide you with more durability while providing you with a slight bounce and better support for your back.

You might notice this all in other mattresses though, so what makes this Zoma Hybrid unique? Well, this mattress has a uniquely zoned comfort layer that is made to alleviate pressure all across your body, which makes it perfect for people who are dealing with hip pain or back pain. We certainly noticed the strong edge support when we tested it out, which feels sturdy enough that you won’t fall out of the mattress accidentally.

We didn’t sink into the medium-firm mattress, although it really did feel supportive thanks to the insulated coils inside. We tested this mattress out with people who sleep in different positions and found that it worked well on the side and the back, although it might be a little too soft for those of you who sleep on your stomach. It really does help with tension relief on your shoulders, hips, and lower back though, and it doesn’t feel as if you’re sinking down into the foam when you lie down.

If you’re looking for a mattress that’s great for couples, this might just be the mattress for you. The motion isolation works great, so if you share a bed with someone who gets out of bed a lot, or if you’re the one who tends to shift in your sleep, you’ll appreciate this mattress.

Ultimately, this is a mattress designed with athletes in mind, and made to keep your body feeling good throughout the night so that you can do your best during the day.

Vaya Mattress

What We Like

  • Good amount of support for your pressure points
  • This mattress sleeps cool despite using memory foam
  • The three layers ensure that this mattress remains responsive

What We Don't Like

  • It does not work as well for heavier people or people who sleep on their stomachs

Overall Thoughts:

Vaya is a relatively new mattress brand out there, but this company has certainly been making a name for itself with the soft memory foam that doesn’t overheat as much compared to other memory foam models. That’s because it’s their signature “Vaya Foam,” which is a polyurethane foam. Basically, this means that the foam feels super soft and that you’ll sink right into it. We certainly noticed the pressure relief when we laid down, especially since this foam reacts well to pressure. It won’t make you sink into it and it’s still easy for you to roll out of it.

With the so-called “Vaya Base Foam” right beneath it, you have some added support and structure in this mattress. All of this basically means that when you lie down, this mattress will feel pretty soft. We could feel a legitimate sink into the foam, so this might not be the best option for heavier people, but it all depends on how much sink you’re looking for. You might not want to choose this if you’re looking for something with even more support though or if you tend to sleep more firmly.

Especially if you sleep on your back or your side, you’ll enjoy the softness in this mattress. It hits your pressure points just right, with lots of support for the hips and the shoulders. That’s due to the comfort layer included in this mattress, but don’t think that you’ll just roll right off of this mattress either. There’s some reliable edge supporThis memory foam mattress topper by Sleep Innovations is definitely an innovation with the 4 inches of fiber and gel memory foam put together. It’s just like sleeping atop your pillow on this foam topper, but of course, you’ll stay nice and cool all night too. The foam is made to be cooling, while the entire cover is washable. Sleeping just got a whole lot easier.

When it comes to lower back pain, the key thing you need is even support to relieve pressure. A memory foam mattress topperis a great material to provide this. If you have a new-ish mattress,  memory foam toppers can be a great addition to help ease the pain in your lower back and keep you comfortable throughout the night.

Sleep Innovations is a well known, well liked brand in the mattress industry, and their mattress toppers reflect the same level of quality. Mattress toppers for lower back pain need to be made of higher quality materials then the average memory foam mattress topper.t in this Vaya Hybrid that keeps you feeling supported in this 12-inch mattress, and that keeps this mattress feeling a little bouncy when you get up and lie back down.

What is a Hybrid Mattress?

Like most technology, things tend to move fast and in ever-improving directions. The same can be said for the world of mattresses. Rather than just be content with sleeping on top of a soft or hard mattress, there are now even more options to choose from. One of those is hybrid mattresses.

Combining the familiar construction of coil mattresses with the comfortable layer of foam up top, you are looking at the best of both worlds when it comes to hybrid mattresses. While there can be multiple interpretations of just what are hybrid mattresses, generally, those which utilizes larger layers of foam and less fiber are the real deal.

If you need even more help differentiating between a hybrid mattress and others, here is some important information. In most hybrid mattresses, you are looking at support provided by innersprings. Not only are you looking at increased isolation of movement, but also increased breathability and coolness.

There are bound to be questions as to whether you need a hybrid mattress or not. For those who have tried the likes of coil, latex, or memory foam mattresses, do you find something missing from your sleeping experience? If you have been sleeping on memory foam mattresses, do you find yourself getting hot in the night?

On the other hand, if you are using coil mattresses, do you find yourself feeling too cold instead?
If you happen to fall into categories above, a hybrid mattress might just be the best solution for you in the market.

How to Choose the Best Hybrid Mattress

Now that you have made the choice to go hybrid, what else do you need to look out for when making a purchase?

Sizing

Straight off the bat, you should already be familiar at the sizes of mattresses you are looking at. The industry standards apply here, so whether you need a Queen, King, or a Twin-sized mattress, be sure to get the one that is just right for your home.

Durability

For longevity, check out the different foam layers that help make up a hybrid mattress. The likes of latex and memory foam will serve your needs for a longer period of time, while polyfoam is less ideal for the long term. Considering that a mattress is an essential part of your daily sleeping routine, investing in a durable one is very important.

Heat

Consumers more concerned about the heat should also take note of a hybrid mattress’ ability to help you sleep cool. While the innersprings will do their utmost in keeping the heat away, the added layer of latex, foam, or even gel foam can enhance the cooling properties.

Latex is quite efficient in transferring heat through the aeration holes, and natural latex products are usually the best in that category. Memory foam may be traditionally regarded as a heat-trapping material, but new innovations have helped bridge the gap. Be sure to check out the new technology that may help in cooling as well.

For those that prefer gel foam, it certainly helps in absorbing heat while you sleep. The only downside is that once they reach capacity, they are not as effective. To alleviate that, look for alternatives such as copper or graphite, or mattresses that are infused with gel rather than just gel beads.

Benefits of Hybrid Mattresses

What can you expect from your brand new hybrid mattress as you lay down to rest for the night?

Power of Technology

This innovation of the mattress industry will ensure you are getting the best of both worlds. You can expect even more improvements to be made in the future when it comes to giving you a good night’s rest.

A Cooling Sleep

As mentioned, hybrid mattresses are great at keeping you cool. The combination of materials will work overtime to keep the heat away while you enjoy your rest.

Support & Comfort

You do not have to sacrifice one good thing for another. The hybrid mattress gives you the support of a coil system while adopting the benefits of foam or latex to give you that extra boost. No compromising on the way you sleep.

Customization

With the unique makeup of hybrid mattresses, you will be able to find one that suits you perfectly. Every sleeper has different needs, and the way these mattresses are constructed gives you a better shot at finding the perfect pairing.

Value

If you want the best value for your investment, look no further than a hybrid mattress. The endless possibilities when it comes to its construction and properties will give you the freedom to choose. No longer do you have to sacrifice quality to find value, not when the variety of hybrid mattresses give you a choice.

Conclusion

For consumers looking for the best sleeping experience that does not hold you back in terms of support, comfort, cooling, and gives the best value, hybrid mattresses are the way to go. Ultimately, just apply the same foundations of searching for a mattress: make sure the size fits you and your room well and always prioritize your comfort.
