As a hot sleeper I loved this mattress. While testing this bed, its unique grid design did an excellent job of keeping great airflow throughout the night, and helped disperse my body heat.

The support it provides is well balanced enough for any sleeping position; which makes it ideal for couples that sleep in different positions. The grid design contours to your body, providing a cradling support that almost feels like you're floating.

The Purple hybrid is made of a combination of the purple grid, foam, and coils. The first layer of this mattress is the 2" purple grid. This is what provides the soft yet supportive feeling that makes purple unique. It felt soft and squishy when we first touched it, but it offered excellent support after we applied pressure.

This Casper mattress gave us awesome comfort without any hassle, and it was easy to set it up too. Just unbox it and watch it inflate, then get ready for the best sleep ever. It fits well on a platform bed. While some platform beds can take a ton of weight, not all of them can. That’s where this mattress stands out: it fits perfectly on platform beds, even when they have one of the lowest weight limits.

You still have plenty of pad and support under you, however. The cover is soft, and it’s easy to zip on and off and not all mattresses have removable covers. That means it’s even easier to clean and take care of, which is a huge bonus.

The Casper original mattress is a full memory foam mattress, but there are other hybrid options that would work well on a platform bed frame. All their foam materials are CertiPUR-US certified meaning they're designed without ozone-depleting chemicals. The Casper original mattress has zoned support to help with proper spinal alignment. The softer foam that can be found around the shoulders is great for pressure relief on the upper body. Many people are skeptical about getting cheaply priced mattresses - just like I am. In this case, the mattress exceeded my expectations. Once I lay on it, I could feel the tension start to ease off my pressure points, which made my mornings energetic! There’s even a layer in the mattress specifically designed to take care of all your problematic pressure spots.

This mattress is primarily memory foam, but with a few key things to make note of. First, the memory foam is infused with green tea which helps eliminate odors and has minor antibacterial properties. This is great if you're worried about odors in the long term. It's also infused with active charcoal that helps to absorb moisture which is great if you tend to sweat in your sleep and need a mattress that works with you, not against you. 

The Zinus Memory Foam Mattress offers strict side sleepers excellent pressure relief around the hips and shoulders. I felt a pleasant balance of support and comfort while back sleeping on this memory foam mattress. The foam layers conformed to the unique curves of my body and the high density base layer delivered excellent lumbar support. However, I didn't get the much-needed hip support when I slept on my stomach. My hips bowed a bit into the top layer, which put strain around my lower back. 

This memory foam mattress is without a doubt the most budget conscious choice on this list, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great choice in its own right.
