These incredible features are ideal for individuals who often sleep hot at night
Purple Queen Mattress

Overall Thoughts:
The Nectar mattress is comfortable and convenient, especially for people that change up their sleeping position during the night. As we tested it, we found that it did a great job of gently conforming to our body, but without feeling too soft. Like most all-foam models this Nectar Memory Foam Mattress bears a good firmness feel, making it perfect for taking the pain out of pressure points. It’s different from a typical foam mattress because it uses hyper elastic, medical grade memory foam. The result is a comfortable, well balanced feel that isn’t hard, but gives sleepers just enough support.
The Nectar Queen Mattress also handled motion transfer remarkably well. It's one of those popular gel memory foam mattresses on which you actually can set a glass of water on one side and bounce around on the other. It won’t tip over and spill, so you know there’s no motion transfer. During testing, I didn't feel my partner's movements coming over to my side. If you or your partner is a light sleeper, this mattress becomes a total game changer.
The mattress moves to support your body form and weight quickly. Although I usually roll around and switch positions through the night, I didn't notice a difference in the support. The other nice thing about this Nectar mattress is that it’s so easy to set up. While it’s a little heavy in the package, it quickly expanded to the right size when we opened if for testing. With two pillows designed to match the mattress included, it’s pretty much a whole sleep makeover. The temperature stays fairly neutral, so we didn't wake up in a sweat pool after sleeping on the mattress for an entire night.
The best way to explain this mattress is to say no matter how you sleep, it feels comfortable. Even stomach and side sleepers can get a great night’s sleep with the Nectar mattress. This all-foam mattress costs about $660. It boasts a 365-night sleep trial period and a lifetime warranty.

Overall Thoughts:
This Nectar mattress is the company's latest model with sophisticated cooling features to prevent overheating in bed at night and advanced support layers. As we tested the Nectar mattress, we found that its memory foam feel primarily targets hot sleepers who fancy the classic cushioning of a memory foam mattress.
A typical all foam mattress is known to sleep hot since they retain excessive heat, creating an uncomfortable sleep surface, especially for victims of overheating. However, the premium copper in nectar mattress utilizes an advanced cooling technology, which helped us sleep comfortably and wake up in the morning sweat-free.
It's worth noting that the gel memory foam of this nectar mattress not only helped keep us cool during our review process, but also offered exceptional pressure relief. In fact, this mattress' gel memory foam layers contoured closely to our curves while distributing our body weight equally across the sleep surface to alleviate painful pressure points.
Motion isolation is also another perk this Nectar Mattress comes with. While my partner is prone to restlessness at night and we all have different sleep habits and schedules, we enjoyed an undisturbed night’s rest while testing this mattress. However, the weak edge support in this Nectar mattress may be a rude awakening, especially for individuals who tend to roll a lot while sleeping. My partner and I didn't feel secure while lying or sitting near the edge of the mattress.
This nectar memory foam mattress does well in the support department for an all-foam model—courtesy of its polyfoam support core. The solid support system ensures proper stability and prolonged durability. Their mattresses are currently on offer, going for $1,169. Shoppers can also take advantage of the added bedding offer, which includes 2 cooling pillows, a sheet set, and a mattress protector. Each purchase comes with a forever warranty, 365-night home trial, and free shipping and returns.

Overall Thoughts:
Generally, the Purple mattress felt great during testing, but it really does wonders for people that struggle with back pain. One of the biggest strengths of this mattress is the way it kept our spine aligned, which prevented aching back when we woke up. It’s designed to minimize the strain on sensitive pressure points, while also supporting all the areas that need it most. Overall, the exquisite pressure relief, in conjunction with the magnificent support this purple mattress provides, ensured we could drift off without noticing there’s a mattress beneath you.
With its hyper elastic grid you can bet that this Purple Mattress comes with tons of benefits. First, the support was really nice, and it was dynamic enough to adjust to our bodies. The other nice thing about the grid is that it allowed plenty of airflow. Memory foam mattresses are somewhat notorious for trapping heat. For hot sleepers, that can be an absolute deal breaker. With the grid, this memory foam mattress stayed nice and cool, allowing my partner and I to sleep comfortably all night long.
While you may not seek out an antimicrobial mattress, it’s definitely a huge benefit. The Purple mattress is naturally antimicrobial, no chemicals needed. Mattresses can last a long time, and in that time, they can also absorb a lot of bacteria, dust and dirt. With its antimicrobial properties, you can rest easy knowing your mattress is still fresh with each new year.
As a bonus, these mattresses also last up to a decade longer than others, so your investment lasts even longer. If you’re still not sure if it’s right for you, take advantage of the 100 night trial and try it out yourself. Shoppers also get a 10-year limited warranty against defects due to faulty materials or workmanship. The mattress is currently going for $1,199.

Overall Thoughts:
Of all the Purple beds, this hybrid premium model is the deepest. Compared to other Purple mattress models, which have 2 inches of Purple Grid, this one has 4 inches. During testing, we ranked it around a 5.5/10, meaning it's on the softer side.
Construction-wise, this mattress has a total of 4 layers. At the base is the 4-inch proprietary hyper elastic polymer layer responsible for the mattress, overall support, pressure relief, and unique soft feel. On top of this layer is the 0.5-inch polyurethane foam layer which acts as a transition from the below coils.
Thanks to its grid-like structure that comprises hyper elastic polymer technology, the Purple Hybrid dissipates heat and promotes proper airflow. While all the Purple mattresses are breathable, we found more breathability on the hybrid version, thanks to its coil system which allowed for lots of airflow through the surface. The mattress ensured we slept cool and sweat-free all night.
The 7.5-inch pocketed coils layer comes next, and it serves as the main support system for this Purple Mattress. Final layer is the 1-inch of polyurethane foam layer which basically serves as the mattress’s foundation. Most Purple mattresses are hypoallergenic which makes them ideal for allergy sufferers and resistant to dust mites.
As for sleeping positions, the purple hybrid premier mattress is a flagship for side sleepers. That's because its thick top layer offers an immersive pressure-relieving experience. We also felt amazing while back sleeping on the Purple Premier Hybrid Mattress. Our hips sank into the surface for some pressure relief and the coils offered plenty of support. Moving to our stomachs, we also enjoyed excellent support overall. Our hips stayed perfectly aligned with the spine, so we didn't worry about developing back pain.
Some great perks to save you money include a $300 instant gift of choice. Purple will give you the chance to select any items up to that amount when you buy these Purple mattresses. This will help you save on items like pillows and bedsheets.
Online mattress industry comprises many mattress brands that offer sleep trials, warranty and free shipping for its mattress. The same is also true for purple mattresses. In fact the Purple Hybrid Premier comes with 10-year limited warranty and 100-night sleep trial, plus buyers get free shipping for this Mattress. The official Purple website offers this hybrid bed for $2,595.

Overall Thoughts:
One of the hardest parts about buying a mattress is making sure it feels right with your body type. A medium firm mattress may feel too soft for a larger person. Likewise, a smaller person may find the exact same mattress much too hard. Of course, it's a relief to see there’s finally a mattress that has the same great feel, no matter your weight or height. You don’t lose any of the support your back needs, either. Even people that struggle mainly with lower back pain get plenty of relief, since it perfectly supports your hips.
As a hot sleeper, I was delighted to know of the Advanced AirScape™ Technology of this mattress. This exclusive design includes a perforated gel-infused memory foam layer that helped enhance overall breathability, keeping me cool throughout our testing process. The Casper Original Mattress’s design also features a moisture-wicking cover that adds to overall cooling while shielding hot sleepers against night sweats.
Most ‘bed in a box’ style mattresses have a major weakness - edge support. Want to sit on your bed to put on your socks or tie your shoes? With most mattresses, you’ll be sliding off before you get a single sock on. With the Casper mattress? Go ahead; in fact lace up those really tough boots too. All of that’s to say, their edge support is great, which is a rare bonus in this market.
Casper mattress is one of those mattresses you don’t have to take a week to ‘get used to.’ If you usually struggle with getting to sleep, you’ll find that you won’t with a Casper mattress. You can start sleeping on it quicker than other mattresses you order online too. Thanks to its zone support system, this casper mattress provides an exquisite balance of comfort and support, ideal for all sleepers, including stomach sleepers and even combination sleepers.
When we slept on our backs, this mattress felt like a perfect match. Our midsection sank into the AirScape foam, but the zoned support system delivered the lumbar support we needed. The Casper Mattress also felt great when we shifted to our sides. Its foam layers felt soft under our shoulders and offered excellent pressure relief. When stomach sleeping, the zoned design offered a decent amount of support under our hips. However, it wasn't firm enough to keep our spine in the proper alignment, so we recommend opting for one of the best hybrid beds for stomach sleepers if you often sleep in this position.
For some mattresses, even 48 hours doesn’t seem like enough time to fully inflate. With this memory foam mattress though, it seems like it’s only a few minutes after you unpack it and it reaches full size. Plus, there’s not that terrible, strong factory smell like with other mattresses, so you can actually enjoy sleeping on it the first night. This Casper mattress is more affordable than other options. For instance, their queen-size model is currently going for $1,165.50. And like the Purple and Nectar Mattresses in this review, this Casper model comes with a good 10-year limited warranty and 100 nights free trial.
The Casper Original Mattress is virtually compatible with any model of bed frame. Casper also manufactures a variety of bed frames compatible with this Casper mattress. So you can bet you’ll find an excellent bed frame from the company’s repository that will perfectly complement the overall outlook of your bed while helping enhance your sleep comfort.

Overall Thoughts:
One of the significantly recognized bed in a box mattresses is the Casper Wave Hybrid mattress. Its super soft mattress cover is gray. Plus, it's removable and relatively easy to clean. So in case of accidental spills, say, warm milk cleaning it with a mild detergent should do the trick.
Underneath this cover is 5 layers making up the mattress's 13-inch thickness. Besides its unusual thickness, this hybrid mattress possesses advanced features separating it from other average mattresses. The mattress has a support foam layer serving as its foundation. The polyfoam gel-pods layer promotes healthy spinal alignment, courtesy of its strategic position at the core and the lower back.
Zoned memory foam is divided into 3 for more support and pressure relief, while the natural latex foam "Airfoam" -designed layer serves as the mattress's breathable transition layer. In addition, this layer also adds slightly to the mattress's overall responsiveness. Serving as the mattress's primary comfort is the perforated comfort foam layer. With its thin cooling gel coating, this layer significantly helped regulate temperature.
This hybrid mattress proved to be an ideal pick for back sleeping. Its two zoned layers offered great lumbar support during our second stage review process. We felt a bit of pressure on our hips and shoulders while side sleeping on the Casper wave mattress. While it wasn't much pressure, it's worth noting this, especially if you often sleep on your side. We wouldn't recommend this mattress for stomach sleeping, as our hips sank deep into the surface, tugging the spine out of alignment.
Like any typical online mattress purchase, this Casper Mattress also comes with a warranty, sleep trial, and shipping policies. The company offers a 100-night sleep trial in conjunction with free shipping but only to residents within the contiguous US and the Canadian provinces. Additionally, it comes with a 10-year limited warranty, which further makes purchasing this Casper Mattress online worth every penny of your investment. It's currently on offer going for about $2,480 for the queen-size model.
Comparing Mattress Layers & Construction
Purple Mattress Layers:
The purple mattress has a polyurethane base layer that is as solid as a dense memory foam, which makes the mattress stronger and more supportive. The middle layer adds some softness, and creates a transition between the other memory foam layers. The upper layer is what makes the Purple mattress unique. It has a hyper elastic grid that created versatile support and ventilation during our testing process.

Casper Mattress Layers:
The Casper mattress has several layers, starting with the base layer that supports the others. The next layer adds extra support for shoulders and hips. After that, there’s a thinner layer of memory foam that forms to the shape of your body. The upper layer is designed for comfort and responsiveness.
Nectar Mattress Layers:
The base layer of the Nectar mattress is the thickest, and provides a foundation and support for the other layers. The middle layer is about 1 ½ inches thick, and creates the ‘responsiveness’ in the mattress. The upper layer is made of special memory foam that cradles your form and keeps the mattress cool.
Firmness Comparison
Casper Firmness:
Casper is right in between firm and soft, although that also changes somewhat with height and weight. Smaller users often find the mattress firmer. Larger users find it a littler softer, although still supportive. Undoubtedly, both Casper Mattresses mentioned in this article (Wave and Original) Perform exemplary in the pressure relief department. However, we found the Casper Wave model to be ideal for individuals with sensitive pressure points, thanks to its zoned support system's targeted approach. On the other hand, the Casper Original appeals to a broader audience seeking a medium-firm Memory Foam Mattress that provides a balanced level of support.
Nectar Firmness:
Nectar mattresses are the ideal medium firm, rated between 5.5 and 7 on our firmness scale. This ensures there’s not too much weight on any pressure points. When we tested Nectar mattresses, their innovative design not only granted us exquisite pressure relief but also conformed closely to our curves, helping keep the spine aligned properly.
Purple Firmness:
Purple mattresses often feel more on the firm side to lighter people. Because it’s designed with a grid that stretches and supports, larger people have an easier time getting the mattress to feel medium firm. In fact, Purple Mattress allows buyers to personalize their comfort by picking an option that strikes a perfect balance of plushness and support. So regardless of your body weight or sleeping style, you can bet that you’ll find a fitting pick among firmness options of Purple Mattress which include; plush, medium firm, and firm options suiting your comfort needs.

Edge Support Comparison
Casper Edge Support:
Casper mattresses have fairly strong edge support. There is some sloping, but it isn’t significant. The more evenly spread the weight is, the better the support. These mattresses didn't collapse too much when we sat and slept near the edge of the bed, and we didn't feel like we would roll off the side.
Nectar Edge Support:
While Nectar mattresses tend to roll slightly at the edges, they still have fair support. While the top layer collapsed a bit during testing, the supporting layers underneath stayed in place. Generally, the Nectar Queen Mattress has a slightly above-average edge support. Though ideal for all sleepers, it may not suit stomach sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds. Nectar Mattress with the best solid edge support is the Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid model. Unlike the Queen Model, this one is ideal for all individuals, including back and stomach sleepers requiring extra support for proper spinal alignment.
Purple Edge Support:
Purple mattresses often lose some of their edge support over time. The upper layer, which adds softness, dips when sitting on an edge. However, if you’re sleeping stretched out, the roll off feeling isn’t noticeable. My partner and I could sit and sleep near the edge of the bed while still feeling secure.
Overall Comparison
After our second stage review process, we concluded that these are all great mattresses in their own ways. That said, different sleepers have different preferences, so there’s a best fit for anyone. How you sleep (position) also makes a big difference. If you sleep on your stomach or sides, the Purple mattress is great. For back sleepers, the Nectar and Casper mattresses are ideal.
Casper Wave vs. Casper Original Mattress
Though these two may have a perfect foam feel balance, we found the Casper Original to be firmer and denser than the Casper Wave. So, as long as your body weight is above average, it's perfectly fine to go for the Original Casper. Lightweight individuals should consider opting for Casper Wave.
Courtesy of its unique top layer, Casper Wave performs better than Original in the motion isolation department. However, the difference is minimal, so generally, they perform well in motion transfer. I personally tested these beds’ motion isolation capabilities and I didn't feel my partner's movements transfer to my side of the bed.
Purple Hybrid premium 4 vs. The Purple Mattress
Generally, the GelFlex Grid layer is a common feature on these two mattresses. This not only makes the purple mattresses durable but also excellent temperature regulators.
Regarding firmness because of its coil layer, the Purple hybrid gave a more dynamic response in conjunction with a firm feel than the Purple mattress. Comfort largely depends on the sleeper's weight. Generally, you'll feel more weightless if the Grid layer is thicker.
Nectar Memory foam vs. Nectar premium Copper mattress
Each mattress cover of these two mattresses uniquely differs from one another. Nectar copper has copper fiber woven throughout its cover to provide optimal cooling performance for a comfortable sleep experience. On the other hand, the Nectar memory foam’s cooling cover is standard but soft and breathable enough to dissipate heat throughout the mattress. However, the nectar premium mattress cover is still superior.
Nectar memory foam beats the Copper premium on the side of motion transfer. However, their performance is still almost the same regarding motion transfer but with a tiny difference.
